My love for art began in first grade. We were exposed to master works from the National Gallery of Art. Images of Monet, Degas, Rousseau and other artists made a profound impression on me. When I was ten my family visited the National Gallery of Art. I was so excited to see my beloved paintings and could tell my father the artists names. Being shy I created my artworks in my mind. My Intro to Art professor at Edinboro University Pennsylvania convinced me I could major in art. Since then, my life has revolved around art working in oils, watercolor, batik and other mediums. At one point I decided to concentrate in oil painting. The natural world inspires my subject matter. I love color and harmony striving for brilliant and poetic combinations. I desire to evoke the physical and spiritual world. I love to travel and have enjoyed living in many different places, my home state of Pennsylvania, also Maryland, Hawaii, Washington, California, Delaware, Florida, and New Mexico. I moved from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Asheville, North Carolina in 2020.Through these travels I have met many artists and different art styles. I continue to study art through galleries, reading and other artists.
