My career as a potter spans nearly 50 years. I am a Vietnam veteran, a college professor, and a potter.
Looking back at my career, the thing that strikes me as one my finest accomplishments is the people who love my pots. Not merely to buy the pots but to love them. I think my favorite way to sell is at crafts fairs. Thepleasure to see the the joy in someone's eyes as you wrap the pot for them to carry it away. It is especially rewarding to talk to people who care enough to use their resources to purchase one of my pots.
I use three types of kilns to achieve my vision: an electric kiln for low fired pots for brilliant color; a gas kiln for utilitarian types of pottery; and a wood fired kiln for texture an unique surfaces
Finally I decided ( at the age of seventy) to make what I want the way I want. That way you see the best I can do.
