Raquel began painting in 1996 while residing in Brazil, where she studied with the internationally acclaimed artist, Tran Tho. Additionally, attending a variety of painting classes with private teachers, and remaining actively involved with local artists, collaborating, setting up art shows and helping other artists.

Later, In Miami, studied with Anne Lemos at the University of Miami. There, was an active member of the One Ear Society in Coconut Grove, an organized art community.

Raquel participates regularly in art exhibits, actively involved with art groups in Tarpon Springs and Dunedin in Florida and Black Mountain in North Carolina, winning awards and accolades and successfully selling her art to collectors and private buyers in several countries. Also, teaching workshops for mixed media techniques in the US and overseas.
